Our attorneys and staff are dedicated to assisting our clients in navigating the complicated landscape of U.S. immigration law. The majority of our staff have been impacted in personal ways by the immigration system. We work hard to reduce the stress and confusion inherent in this system, and are passionate about our work.

Deann Spencer - Office Manager
Deann has worked in the legal world for 10 years, serving as an administrative assistant and business support specialist in her previous law firm. She joined Chadwick and Crouse as office manager in December 2022 and provided important support to the merger process necessary to get Fernandez, Chadwick and Crouse operating in 2024. Deann enjoys being part of the financial and administrative side of the business, as well as serving clients through casework.
Deann spends her free time with her children, often at their sporting events.
Ana Carranza - Managing Paralegal
Ana started as a legal assistant for Atty. Fernandez in 2017, and has been critical to the growth of this law practice. She has more than six years of experience working with clients, helping manage staff training, and preparing high-quality USCIS and court filings. Ana is an expert in VAWA and U visa cases and a compassionate advocate for immigrants.
Ana is a first generation immigrant who was born in Mexico but grew up in the heart of Milwaukee’s Latinx community. She is a naturalized United States citizen, fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and loves to travel and spend time with her family.
Yesenia Gonzalez - Senior Paralegal
Yesenia began working for Atty. Fernandez in 2019, and quickly became a skilled legal assistant and integral part of the growing practice. She is highly organized and efficient, able to break down complex processes to our clients, and an expert in consular processing and waivers.
Yesenia grew up in the United States, and served the complicated role as language and cultural translator for her immigrant parents. She has also been in the shoes of many of our clients as a petitioner for her own family members. Her passion for our work and the people we serve motivates her to do her best each day.
Viviana Martin Gomez - Paralegal
Viviana is a graduate of Mount Mary University where she majored in Spanish and minored in Int’l Studies and Business Administration. She began working as a legal assistant for Laura Fernandez Immigration Law in 2021. As the daughter of Mexican immigrants, Viviana has extensive experience navigating between cultures and languages.
Besides her high-quality work and customer service to our clients, Viviana is also our resident technology guru. She is frequently called upon to explain and implement new systems, and routinely helps us become more productive and efficient. Viviana loves traveling and baking in her free time.
Marielli Mueller - Paralegal
Mari started working as a legal assistant for Crouse Law in 2018. She has since used her experience in marketing and her B.A. in Philosophy to help grow the practice, drafting legal briefs with an attention to detail while retaining the emotional heart of the cases. Mari specializes in asylum filings and cancellation of removal, where she strives to treat every case with the humanitarian dignity it deserves.
Mari is active in the West Allis community where she lives with her husband, daughter and Frenchie. When she is not baking or in the garden, she can be found curled up reading a book or planning her next travel adventure.
Jacky Alvarez - Paralegal
Jacky began working as a legal assistant for Laura Fernandez Immigration Law in 2023. She was born in California but has lived in the Milwaukee area for most of her life. When she was child, she recalls participating in a pageant where - inspired by her mother’s recent naturalization - she told the judges she wanted to work in immigration some day. Dreams do come true!
Jacky spends her free time with friends and family. She enjoys being adventurous and trying new things to challenge herself and grow as a person. Jacky was promoted to a paralegal position as of October of 2024 due to her knowledge, hard work, and conscientiousness.
Daniela Gorostieta - Legal Assistant
Daniela serves as a virtual legal assistant for Fernandez, Chadwick, and Crouse, providing critical support work to our team through translations, client interviews, drafting declarations for U visas, VAWAs, and asylum cases, and completing forms and applications.
Daniela lives in Querétaro, Mexico, and previously worked for the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City where she was part of the team that assisted the migrant caravan that entered Mexico in 2017. She has a Bachelor's degree in communication from the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla and has diplomas in Psychotherapy and Mediation, Emotional Intelligence, Family Coaching, and Thanatology. She also studied abroad in the U.S. as a high school student and is completely bilingual in English and Spanish. Daniela loves spending time with her family and traveling both within Mexico and the United States.
Josephina Reyes - Receptionist
Josephina has worked in the Latino community for more than 15 years and enjoys interacting with clients on a daily basis. She was born and raised in Milwaukee in an immigrant family, and has experienced the stress of the immigration process firsthand through her parents’ and husband’s cases.
Josephina enjoys spending time with her family including her two teenage daughters and spends her vacations in Mexico with her 97-year-old grandfather who she is very thankful to still have in her life.
Michelle Hernandez Andueza - Paralegal
Michelle began working at Chadwick and Crouse as a legal assistant in 2020 and later advanced to the role of paralegal. She was born and raised in Venezuela and immigrated to the United States in 2017.
As an immigrant herself, now a proud naturalized U.S. citizen, Michelle deeply understands and connects with the challenges of starting over in a new country. Her own journey, along with the experiences of her community, fuels her dedication to supporting others through the immigration process—especially those seeking asylum and protection.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and embracing both her immigrant identity and her American citizenship with pride.
Keva Estrada - Intake Specialist
Keva serves as our Intake Specialist, helping clients take the first step in their immigration journey.
Immigration is a topic that is near and dear to her due to going through the process with her husband to gain his United States citizenship.
She has worked as a Spanish Medical Interpreter, co-hosted a DEI Talk show and has advocated for parents of children with special needs and caretakers that wish to pursue degrees through the Wisconsin Technical College System.
She enjoys learning new languages and in addition to being fluent in Spanish, she is currently learning Ukrainian and French to better communicate with our diverse clientele.
